Exodus 33:15”Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. “
LORD was so angry with the Israelites because of their constant disobedience and rebellious acts that He decides not to accompany them to Canaan . But He assures Moses that He will fulfil the promise of “Canaan” that He has spoken to the Israelites . He assures them of protection by sending angels before them to fight their battles. This shows the great mercy of God, who has every reason and every right to simply act against defiant men.
Moses was not content with this proposal. He was more concerned with God and not His promise alone. He was willing to let go of Canaan but not the presence of God .
Are there times in our lives when we are more focused on the fulfilment of promise that God has given us than God ? Has the promise of God become bigger than God ?Have we stopped enjoying the presence of God or don’t yearn for His presence as the promises of God has captivated us ? Or are we like Moses who said “ Your presence is more to me than Your promise “.
