The heart of God is reflected in Hosea through the word “return “, occurring 4 times -Hosea 6:1, 12:6, 14:1 & 14:2. His longing for the people of Israel to turn away from sins and to turn towards Him.A people whom He rescued ,loved and showed favour. An exhortation to return and not rebel .
It is the same call for us today if we have walked away from the Lord , grieving His heart , He is calling “return “. How does He want us to return? Through confession, with words an acknowledgment of sin . A genuine recognition of the sin’s committed against the Lord Almighty.We can only do this in the light of the word of God and the prompting of the Holy Spirit .
This results in healing, reviving and restoring. The joy of living in His presence, revealing in His love . Being fruitful, blossoming and flourishing!!!
Can you hear the voice of a loving, merciful, compassionate, gracious God calling you ,” Return “. What will be your response today?
