Psalm 50:15,” Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honour Me.”
Through the Bible we see people calling on the name of the Lord knowing the Lord will hear and answer. In the above verse the Lord affirms us that He will rescue, and we will honour Him. Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know: God invited Jeremiah and all who heard to come to Him in faith-filled prayer, confident of His answer. The Israelites called on the Lord when they went through turmoil in Egypt and the Lord raised up Moses. Even when they were brought out of Egypt into the promised land in times of crisis the Lord raised up Judges. The Lord hears when people, who are in trouble, call out to Him. Calling is also crying out to the Lord. As we read Acts 2:21, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved “Romans 10:13, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." This is salvation - When we realise, we can only depend on God we call onto Him, cry out to Him and He will hear us and come to our rescue filling us with His presence, His assurance, His peace, His joy. Let us never stop calling on the Lord as long as we live.
