Hebrews 11:24-27. There is a beautiful example of Moses choosing a difficult right over an easy wrong. Moses did not mind being mistreated, disgraced rather than enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. It is evident that sin gives us pleasure. And it is also evident that these pleasures are momentary, they do not last forever. Maybe for a few days, few months or maybe even years. But if we are people whose minds are not fixed above as Paul writes in Col 3:2, we may get entrapped and allured by the pleasures of sin. It is a deliberate choice to think about the Lord, His cross, the shame, pain, rejection, He suffered for us and the reward that He enjoys today at the right hand of the Father. For the sake of Christ, one should persevere, and thus influencing one’s goals and guiding one’s course of action. May we not give any foothold to the enemy as we look ahead for our reward that is of greater value than anything we can experience here on the earth.
