Ps 46:10”Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! We say this and sing this but do we remain still . “ Be still" means to sink , to relax, to stop striving and to stop fighting. God is speaking to His people - Relax !!!! AND KNOW !!!! I AM GOD !. Many times we may get so overwhelmed by our emotions, our situation and our circumstances that we fail to comprehend that “He is God !”And that ”He is Sovereign” and it is He who will help us when we are in trouble. He, is the same God who is in control of all nations is in control of our lives, He is with us , besides us, acts on behalf of us and will never leave us . Knowing this , we have the confidence that we relax , stop striving or fighting and say , “You are God , I surrender. “ It is a picture of a child sleeping at the bosom of a parent. A picture of trust and love , confidence and security. God , Himself is commanding His people to relax , to trust , to let go and let God be God.
