How Do I Look?

Yep, I am pretty sure that’s the last question you ask yourself or someone really close to you before you leave anywhere. Sometimes we ask it more than once. I know there are some of you who are angles and have never asked that question if you are that kind of person, congrats, but this blog is more for a human being. So if you are a human being then you can go on reading.

Let me first address the elephant in the room. I am not against you looking nice or working out or dressing up well. To be very clear are bodies are the Temples of the Living God and we should take care of it. The problem is when we go overboard. Like the proverb says “If you find honey, eat just enough– too much of it, and you will vomit.” It’s when we go overboard that we lose sight of what God has called.

How do you ask? Let me give you an example from my life. As I am a guy I don’t go to a parlor. But there was a time in my life where I was obsessed with my body structure, my muscles, and my looks. So I had decided to that I would start a proper workout in the mornings. But here’s the catch. I used to spend my time with God in the mornings from 05:15-06:00. But for my workout, I had to leave by 05:30. So, well yeah you could have already guessed it. I sacrificed the time from my former for the latter. And if you’re a type of person who is saying, well at least you are spending 15mins. Well, to be honest, I actually never spent that time with or for God.

Well if can relate to this kind of situation or have faced this kind of situation like this, then you are defiantly on the same track as I was. A track where you are putting your body, your looks before the temple of the living God. If you are looking for a looking for a way out and are asking how can I get out of this addiction? Then there is good news for you. These are 4 rules I apply when it comes to looks

  1. I know my God loves me just the way I am
  2. He has wonderfully and beautifully made you.
  3. Don’t take in anything negative about you
  4. And the most Important is that you are made in the image of The Lord your God. And God is Beautiful.

But just a word of precaution. As much as you should go overboard it is good to take care of your Body as it is the Temple of the Living God and you don’t want the Temple of your Lord to be obese or have diabetes or anything else.

So take care of your body but don’t go overboard.
