Return

“The concept of ‘return’ is central to Hosea, with the word occurring four times in the book (Hosea 6:1, 12:6, 14:1, and 14:2). It reflects God’s longing for the people of Israel to turn away from their sins and return to Him, the One who rescued, loved, and favored them. It’s an exhortation to return and not rebel.

This same call applies to us today. If we have strayed from the Lord, causing His heart grief, He is calling us to ‘return.’ How does He want us to return? Through confession, using words to acknowledge our sins, genuinely recognizing the wrongs committed against the Almighty. This can only be done in the light of God’s Word and through the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Returning results in healing, revival, and restoration. It brings the joy of living in His presence, reveling in His love, and being fruitful, blossoming, and flourishing. Can you hear the voice of a loving, merciful, compassionate, and gracious God calling you to ‘return’? What will be your response today?”
