Foundations are being destroyed??

At times when you feel that everything you hoped for, believed in, dreamed about, and worked towards—the very fiber of your life—is shaken, is crumbling, bring to remembrance that the LORD is on the throne. Psalm 11:3-4 says, ‘When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?’ The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne.

David starts Psalm 11 by declaring that he takes refuge in the Lord. Voices around him say to flee, but he knows that the Lord is on the throne. When God is on the throne, He is in control of everything. The omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent King is in control. He is in charge, unshakable, unperplexed, yet concerned over us, watching us, persevering, sustaining us, and loving us.

In Psalm 16:8, David declares, ‘I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him on my right hand, I will not be shaken.’ Though at times our foundations get shaken, may we focus on our unshakable God who is just. Nothing that comes our way has escaped His eyes. May we come out of our situation with His help, only to be people who are refined for the glory of God.
