Call

Psalm 50:15,” Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

“Throughout the Bible, we witness people calling on the name of the Lord, confident that He will hear and respond. The verse above reaffirms the Lord’s promise of rescue and the honor we offer in return. ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know’ (Jeremiah 33:3). God extended this invitation to Jeremiah and all who listened, urging them to approach Him in faith-filled prayer, assured of His answer.

The Israelites exemplified this when they faced turmoil in Egypt and God raised up Moses as their deliverer. Even as they journeyed from Egypt to the promised land, the Lord raised up Judges in times of crisis. Whenever people in distress cried out to Him, the Lord attentively listened and responded. Calling upon the Lord is synonymous with crying out to Him. Acts 2:21 emphasizes, ‘And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,’ and Romans 10:13 echoes the same promise.

This is salvation—realizing our dependence on God and earnestly calling out to Him. When we do, He answers, coming to our rescue and infusing us with His presence, assurance, peace, and joy. Let us persistently call upon the Lord throughout our lives, knowing that He hears, He responds, and He is our unwavering source of hope.”
