Recipients of Unshakeable Kingdom

Hebrews 12:28-29 states, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.'”

We are recipients of an unshakable, eternal, enduring, immovable, everlasting, and steadfast kingdom! In this world, where everything is temporary, momentary, unstable, volatile, and unsteady, we can remain unruffled. This calls for an attitude of:

  1. Being grateful: In Greek, the word “gratitude” literally means “let us continually have grace.” Only when we live in the grace of God and understand this grace can we bring worship that is acceptable.
  2. Being awestruck: Knowing and experiencing the unmerited favor of God will cause us, inspire us, and compel us to worship His Majesty with awe and reverence.
  3. Dependency on what we have received: Our worship depends on what we have received from our King. Everything we possess appears as filthy rags before the splendor and brilliance of this King of kings. Nothing of our own is worthy, nor can it measure up to the King of kings. To offer acceptable worship, we must first be recipients.

Are you a recipient of God’s unshakeable kingdom? If so, are you thankful and offering worship that is acceptable to God?
